Altar Call
If you feel moved to accept Christ or you simply want to rededicate yourself to the Lord, please join us in the following prayer for forgiveness, acceptance and dedication to Jesus:
Father, I am a sinner. I have rebelled against you and I am so sorry. I am tired of my life. I thought I could do better than you and I now know I can't. I ask you to forgive me of my sins. Please wash me clean in the blood of Jesus Christ. Make me pure, righteous and holy that I may now stand before your throne justified, dressed in white with my intercessor Jesus Christ by my side. I ask Jesus to accept my repentance and confession that I may be forgiven my sins. And I ask that Jesus come into my life as my Lord and Savior and live in my heart from this moment on making me a child of God. I thank you for your blessings in my life and dedicate myself to you, trusting in You to grant me Faith, Grace and Salvation. In Jesus name I pray this prayer. Amen!
If you've prayed this prayer from your heart, then congratulations and welcome aboard! You are now a Christian! You have a very exciting journey ahead of you. The most exciting aspect of this journey is that you will never ever be traveling alone again. From this moment on, Jesus will walk each and every step with you! And you will be surprised at how many Christians you will meet along the way.
If you are a new Christian we have a few suggestions for you. First, get yourself a new bible. There are many translations to choose from such as the King James Version (KJV), The New Living Translation (NLT), the New King James Version (NKJV), The Catholic Study Bible, The New American Standard (NASB), The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) and more. Different versions of each translation exists as well. Each has its purpose and use. We use the New International Version (NIV) the most. (The pastor's personal favorite is the 1984 NIV Quest Study Bible although he also has many of the other bibles listed above in his library.) We suggest you start with one of the newer bibles such as the NIV, NLT or NKJV to list a few. They are translated in modern language and much easier to understand. Ask God for the gift of understanding and spend time reading your new bible. You will be amazed at how much you will learn. You may also consider joining an interactive bible study group for new Christians to help you understand even more of God's word.
We also suggest you find a good, Christ centered church to attend. We cannot overstate the importance of corporate worship and the fellowship that goes along with it. Let God lead you to the church that He wants you to attend. This way you'll be assured of attending the right church!
Lastly, we strongly urge you to consider baptism. It is the first thing God asks of us when we accept His son as our Lord. And you will be pleasing Him greatly by accepting His invitation and publicly identifying yourself with Jesus!
Finally, please join us in the following prayer before you leave:
Father, guide me through this life. Teach me, hold me, heal me, love and protect me. May your light shine through me as it should that I may bring others to the peace and safety of Jesus Christ. Grant me the strength and courage to follow you wherever you choose to lead me. In Jesus name I pray this prayer. Amen.
